The Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial
The Mount Soledad Veterans Memorial is located at 6905 La Jolla Scenic Drive South, La Jolla, California 92037. It is open to the public every day from 7 am until 10 pm.
When you visit the Memorial, you can expect to see over 2,700 granite plaques that have the names and photos of American war veterans on the Veterans Memorial Walls.
The walkways are paved with bricks that also honor veterans and ones that have been donated by the community and others to show their support of the memorial.
Each year on Memorial and Veterans Day they have guest speakers from the military along with local leaders in the community who give tributes to American veterans and active military personnel. You will also find local music groups who perform to entertain visitors to the memorial. There are military bands and color guards who entertain the crowd as well.
The views you can see from the Mt. Soledad Veterans Memorial are spectacular. You can stop and relax on a bench while enjoying the view from every direction. See purple-hued mountains, the Pacific Ocean, a beautiful golf course, and even see past San Diego all the way to Mexico.
