Griffith Observatory
The Griffith Observatory is one of Southern California’s most popular attractions. You can see it from many parts of Los Angeles because it is 1,134 feet above sea level.
You will find the Griffith Observatory at 2800 East Observatory Road in Los Angeles, California. You can get general information about the Observatory and upcoming shows by calling 213-473-0800.
While you are at the Griffith Observatory, you can see all the exhibits for free. The use of telescopes is also free. There are trained people who know how to use the telescopes available to assist you while you enjoy the stars.
The Observatory also has special events and programs for you to enjoy. You might even get lucky and be planning your trip here during one of their public star parties. It happens one Saturday in each month and is free to the public. Ok, a star party doesn’t involve Hollywood celebrities, but it’s still pretty cool to see the Los Angeles Astronomical Society and the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers on the lawn and sidewalks at the Griffith Observatory all looking to the sky.
Make sure you add the Griffith Observatory to your list of things to do in California. Come and see for yourself why people have been coming here for 75 years. |
