Lake Tahoe is well known for being some of the clearest water you will ever see in a lake anywhere. It is extremely deep and cold water. The lake is surrounded by beautiful natural landscaping made up of mostly trees.
Nestled among the shoreline are many different types of establishments. If you are just driving by, you might think that this lake is full of serenity but the truth is that it is crowded with buildings and tourist shops of all kinds. There are a lot of vacation homes scattered about as well as lodges of different kinds.
There are many places along the beach that are privately owned but you can find some public areas as well. Just be sure you know you are allowed to be there before you set up for a picnic along the water’s edge. You wouldn’t want a homeowner asking you to leave before you are done.
The lake is surrounded by mountain peaks that you can see past the tree line. Some of the mountain peaks will even have snow caps on them all year long.
In the winter, Lake Tahoe is a popular destination for skiers. There are 14 different centers for skiing that are open from October to May for skiing enjoyment.
The fun here goes on all year long with every season just as beautiful and breathtaking as the one before.
